To all the family and friends that have sent kind words, flowers donations or just shed a tear. My Dad appreciated your friendship and your recognition of his contributions to NASA, to the USA. Smart men and women like him achieved scientific wonders. I am glad to have learned so much from Dad. I'll miss calling him to get his approval on my methods to solve a problem in life. Gods speed and join your family in heaven

Larry and I worked together from 1965 thru 1973 in Flight Crew Training. We were not only co-workers, but also became good friends. He was a really good guy and could make you laugh to the point of tears. His sense of humor and timing were great. Scott got his humor and Garrett his love of flying. Larry will be very much missed by his friends and family. Tiny and I have been close friends for 100 years too, visiting back and forth between Dallas and Atlanta and then, after Tiny and Larry got married, my 4- legged daughter(s) and I would stay with them in Titusville when I'd travel to the Cape. Fortunately, all the "kids" got along very well. Scott and Garrett, my thoughts and prayers are with you; Tiny, I love you and you are always in my thoughts and prayers. Love and hugs to all - Fran and Lacye.

Tiny, Garrett, Scott...our deepest sympathy to each of you. Tim and I valued his friendship, enjoyed his wit, appreciated his 'stories', and greatly admired his determination during his valiant battle these last few months. Our memories of Larry in our lives will be long remembered and always treasured. Send our love, Tim and Jamye Coplin

Tiny, our deepest sympathy to you and Larry's sons. We have enjoyed being next door neighbors for so many years and will miss seeing Larry around the house.

Met Larry back in his single days at one of Cocoa's favorite spots, the Dixie Lounge and Restaurant. Occasionally I would see him in Shuttle Planning Meetings at KSC. A very bright man with a great sense of humor. Over the years our paths would cross and we would take a few minutes to reflect. He will be missed and NOT forgotten. My condolences to wife Tiny and family. Bill Hardy

My prayers are with you all as you travel this journey.
Larry and I grew up in the same town, Macedonia, went to the same church. After reading all his accomplishments, I'm so proud to have known him and see a small town man make big.
His sister Elaine and my brother went to school together also, and now he's gone too.

Paul and I send our deepest condolences to all the Thompson family. I graduated high school with Larry and we all knew him to be quite a calm, moderate, soft spoken and intelligent soul even back then...in Northfield High School. We wish all the family members well as you go through this sad time and we know your memories will carry you through the days and years to come. We send our best to all. Sally and Paul
